After checking out what is available on the net about Grammar, and finding it hard to find appropriate material, my extension students were given the challenge to produce a tutorial, explaining the rule about one part of grammar.  Here is one of the finished products.  What do you think?? We would love your feedback :)

NOVEL STUDY - LORD OF THE FLIES

http://captitaltourcanberra.wix.com/lord-of-the-flies#!home/mainPage

This is one of the digital novel studies one of the students completed on Lord of the Flies. You won't find anything else like it anywhere. Read the book and complete this as you go. Let us know how it works out :)

Digital Novel Studies

The kids have nearly completed their novel studies.  They have used various platforms, such as wix, prezi, webs, keynote and powerpoint.  The powerpoint had to be saved as a keynote before it could be made into a web site.  I have attached some of the links, so feel free to go and have a look.  We would love your feedback.  They still need to be fine tuned, however, overall they have done a great job.

Gifted and Talented

I have offered a challenge to my G & T kids.  They are to create an interactive novel study. They may chose which platform they wish to use.  The activities have to be a combination of both comprehension and language, based around the Blooms Digital Taxonomy. The activities had to be something they would like to do.

So far they have achieved far more than I expected and the sites are looking great. As a setting the scene activity some of them have used Mindcraft or Lego, so who ever is creating the scene is using the program to show their understanding of the scene from the story.

I found a great link for the Blooms Digital Taxonomy that gave them a better understanding of how to ensure their activities reached the higher order thinking required to challenge students.

As we progress through this activity, I will keep you posted and hopefully be able to show you the finished product in the near future.
