King's Christian College Set to Take on the Best.
King's Christian College’s recently erected state of the
art sport center is set to make the college the epitome of sporting success on
the Gold Coast. The nine-month construction process, commencing in late
December 2011 and seeing completion in September 2012, marked the opening of
this sports center. This facility is set to make the college a force to be
reckoned with in an extremely competitive Association of Private School (APS)
sporting competition, but will aid in establishing our school as a dominant
force in an extensive variety of sporting disciplines.
Not only will the center be used as an elite training
facility to give our athletes that leading-edge when it comes to game day, but
will also be accessible by all the college’s students whether they be there for
athletic endeavours or simply for recreational enjoyment. King's Christian
College’s state of the art sports center is completed with two basketball
courts that also double as multipurpose courts, these courts are also complemented
with digital scoreboards. Construction doesn’t stop there though; with floor to
wall stadiums in the process of being erected to provide each spectator with a
prime position.
The center also includes a spacious exercise gym
adjacent to the four classrooms included in this center, that are intended to
be used for the senior students physical education theory classes. Located on
the bottommost level of the college’s cutting edge sports center can be found duplicate
shower and toilet amenities. Also included in the immense precincts are both
change rooms and multiple storage rooms. Surrounding the sports centers
precincts are eighty newly erected car parks to better cater for the influx of
students accessing the centers facilities.
The best is still yet to come in this three-stage
development, with the third and final proposed stage to have a 25-meter swimming
pool erected adjacent to the sports center, awaiting council approval. As in
the previous stages, the nationally renowned construction company Spantech,
will once more be at the forefront of the construction of the final stage of
the college’s sporting complex with their revolutionary and modern construction
solutions. This swimming pool is proposed to be constructed under the existing
covered outdoor learning area (COLA), following the establishment of the 25
meter swimming pool, the structure is then proposed to be fully enclosed to
provide an indoor swimming pool center.
We as students at King's Christian College believe this
sports center will aid in fast tracking the college to the epitome of sporting
success.
The Sports center is all set to be instrumentally
involved in the process of Kings Christian College becoming established as a
college possessing a unique, leading edge sporting prowess.
